SMEs role in the ecomony

It is important to mention how the government has also done a lot in helping these small business enterprises by assisting SMEs to have a legal framework to guide emerging businesses following the getting of the SMEs Act. It is also important to mention that the government has also considered reducing taxes on SME`s

The president visits SMEs in   the North province to have  have a beter understanding of them .

 An article obtained from the News Zimbabwe an online paper it says The flexibility of small businesses allows them to respond quickly to challenges and take advantage of opportunities. We have to promote SMEs that will actually create and add value. We need SMEs that will manufacture and beneficial aggro-products.TheUnited Kingdom has pledged to support small-scale farmers in the country to boost yields and help them find lucrative markets for their produce.
In his mid-term fiscal policy review, former Finance minister Tendai Biti said the agricultural sector played a pivotal role in Zimbabwe’s economy as it could significantly reduce poverty, entrench economic stability and growth. 
 Small and Medium Enterprises Revolving Fund
The Fund is administered by the Ministry through Small Enterprises Development Corporation (SEDCO). All applications should be directed to SEDCO.

All sectors are eligible to apply for the Funds

Therefore it then can be said that small medium enterprises have became an idea in the Zimbabwean economy. Mr Manyathela an owner of a small business in Bulawayo says that it is through the government SMEs project that he was able to establish his sewing material company.
